Tolly Paving was founded in 1987 by Terry Pointer following wide experience in management for both a major block paving manufacturer and a Block Laying Contractor.

He therefore has a broad knowledge of both sides of the industry, is a past Chairman of Interlay and HLTG, the Hard Landscape Training Group, and has, for many years, represented Interlay on BSI committees for the paving industry.

Terry now looks after the Business Development and Admin side of the business and, to his regret, does not spend as much time on site as he would like!

Mark, Terry's son, worked for the business for ten years as a block layer, learning the job the hard way from the bottom up and after several years working with other contractors to broaden his experience, returned to the family business as a partner.

Mark now controls the Company’s day to day activities, programming of labour and plant, site surveying and site supervision. The Company has now laid in excess of two million metres by machine and Mark has personally supervised the vast majority of this giving him unrivalled experience in the mechanical installation of block paving.
