Permeable and Porous Pavements and
Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS)
Following recent media interest in DEFRA's publication
of water strategy document "Future Water"
- we are getting more and more requests for information
regarding the above subjects.
There is still some uncertainty as to what exactly
is meant by the proposed requirement to obtain planning
permission to install any non porous hard surfacing
to any front garden after August 2008 (page 59, paragraph
21 of the above
document) but Tolly Paving have had wide experience
of installing permeable, porous and SUDS solutions in
both commercial and domestic environments over many
years and are recommended by all major permeable paving
block manufacturers.
If you are considering using any of these ecologically
friendly paving solutions then, as always, Tolly Paving
will be happy to discuss your requirements with no obligation
and the reassurance that any solution suggested will
comply with British Standards, manufacturers recommendations
and industry guidelines as published by Interpave (http://www.paving.org.uk/paving_for_rain.php)
and will be installed to the same exacting standards
that Tolly Paving have been applying to both domestic
and commercial projects for over twenty years. If your
project entails permeable paving on a large commercial
scale then Tolly Paving have wide experience in machine
lay permeable paving in addition to conventional hand
lay methods
